Arisa made her way to the shores of Australia from Japan in 2006. She is one of the most influential dancers in Australia’s Hip Hop dance scene and has contributed massively to the development and growth in Australia’s Hip Hop dance community in the last 8 years. Arisa has trained and performed under the world’s finest dancers and choreographers such as Tweetie, Sho-Tyme, and Silk Smoove from the United States, Lenny D from Canada, as well as other outstanding international dancers from US, Canada, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia.
She has danced and choreographed for various national and international shows and competitions (Winner of Groove Dance Competition Perth in 2007 & 2009, Winner of Hip Hop International in 2011, Top 8 at DANCE@LIVE Australia Qualifier in 2011&2012, 3rd place at DEVIiate choreography contest in 2012) and in 2010, she performed as a front act for Sean Paul, Kelly Rowland, Pitbull, Eve and Akon at Supafest Perth. Arisa has been in the UK artist Drumsound & Bassline Smith’s music video “Freak” which was a smash hit and broadcasted on MTV throughout the year in 2011 in the UK.
Arisa has also had regular classes and workshops with dance studios, universities, high schools, primary schools and local communities nationally and internationally, and has also been an active member of Limbs2Riddims since 2012 and works as a mentor for youth from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. When she is not teaching, she is out roaming and jamming world wide and learning and deepening the knowledge of Hip Hop, House, Breakin’, Popping and Locking to go with her already extensive collection of dances.
